Many bold moves have been made this offseason, including the Commanders acquiring star WR Deebo Samuel, greatly shaping their offense in the 2025/26 season.
Deebo samuel to commanders
For the first time in a while, the Commanders are relevant again. After years of searching for a franchise QB, including short stunts with Sam Howell and Taylor Heinicke, they finally got one in Jayden Daniels. Even before Samuel, with a solid defense and a great WR in Terry McLauren, this team had the potential to be dangerous. Then they went and traded for Samuel. What a move this was. With Samuel’s speed and Daniels’ arm talent, this QB-WR duo is one of the best in the NFL. The craziest part? They only gave up a 2025 5th round pick. Talk about a steal. All the Commanders are missing is a quality running back. If they manage to acquire one, watch out Eagles, you guys have some serious competition. This team can certainly compete with the best. Plus, they signed veteran OT Laremy Tunsil, one of the best exterior lineman in the game, completing their offense. So, what’s the moral of the story? The Commanders are seizing the opportunity with Daniel’s still on his rookie contract, as they are going all-in for the 2025/26 season.
DK metcalf to steelers
And Metcalf wanted to play in a warm-weather state. What a joke. It doesn’t get much colder than Pittsburgh in the winter. But on a serious note, this was a HUGE win for the Steelers. But the Seahawks didn’t necessarily lose. It was honestly a good trade for both teams, with the Seahawks acquiring a Round 2 pick in the 2025 Draft. The Steelers overpaid, but for a good reason. They got the true #1 WR they have been looking for ever since the departure of Antonio Brown a few years ago. Metcalf has the ability to be a star. One of the most athletic receivers in the NFL, between his blazing speed and incredible strength. He’s also just entering his prime, at 27 years old, Metcalf is only getting better at this point in his career. Now this gives the Steelers options in the draft. They can either draft a young rookie WR 2 to accompany Metcalf, or a new QB in Jaxson Dart to throw him the ball. Overall, this trade was a massive win for the Steelers, but not so much for Metcalf.
Davante Adams to Rams
Maybe it's just me, but the Rams are an extremely confusing franchise. I mean, attempting to trade franchise QB Matthew Stafford for draft picks and young talent? Sounds like rebuilding to me. Attempting to trade face-of-the franchise WR Cooper Kupp? Again, sounds like rebuilding. Then going ahead and signing multiple time pro-bowler and future Hall-of-Famer Davante Adams? Now I’m confused. But for such a weird acquisition, it wasn’t necessarily bad, since the Rams still have Stafford and Kupp. Their WR core is now top 5 in the NFL, between Puka Nacua, Cooper Kupp, and Davante Adams. Now, if they flip Kupp to another team, which could very well happen? Yes, their WR core isn’t as good, but they still remain elite. The Rams are a solid playoff team, but to me, this team lacks talent to make it far. And spending $23 million per year for Adams? This move wasn’t the best on the Rams part, however, I can see why they would make this move.
Justin Fields to jets
Could this be the Justin Fields resurgence year? I think so. This team is perfectly suited for him, with two talented running options (between Fields + RB Breece Hall) and their young WR room. Picture this: Fields throws a dime into WR Garrett Wilson’s hand for 12 yards. The next play, the defense shifts their attention on Wilson, allowing Fields to run 30 yards into the end zone. That’s the type of offense you’ll be seeing in New York, and I’m all for it. Fields is one of the quickest QB’s ever in the NFL, and he’ll certainly brighten up New York. I personally think this is a great move on the Jets part, allowing them to draft other positions in this lack-of-QB-talent draft.
Geno smith to Seahawks
Somebody please tell me what is going on in that Raiders front office! I have absolutely no clue what they were thinking on this acquisition. The Raiders gave the Seahawks a 3rd round pick in this year’s draft for an old QB past his prime. That is exactly the opposite of what the Raiders want to do! They are rebuilding, acquiring young players in return for solid veterans! Not the opposite! Geno Smith is 34 years old. The Raiders need a young franchise Quarterback to develop while they rebuild. It’s not even that Geno Smith isn’t a great QB, he actually is solid. It just doesn’t make sense to trade for him. No matter how much you defend Geno Smith, there is no excuse for the Raiders front office, as this was a bad move on their part.
